1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Brewed (brewed.co.za), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered members, and roaster partners.

2. What Brewed Is

Brewed is an independent, community-driven platform for discovering, rating, and reviewing South African coffee roasters, blends, and coffee shops. Brewed is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in partnership with any specific roaster, coffee brand, or industry body unless explicitly stated.

Brewed does not sell coffee, process food orders, or act as a payment intermediary for roaster products. The Coffee Corner feature connects users with roasters directly — all transactions occur between the user and the roaster independently of Brewed.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Brewed will not be liable for any loss resulting from unauthorised use of your account.

You may only create one account per person. Creating multiple accounts to manipulate ratings or reviews is prohibited and will result in permanent suspension.

4. Community Content Rules

By submitting reviews, ratings, roaster listings, blends, or shop information, you agree that your content:

• Is honest and represents your genuine opinion or knowledge
• Does not contain false, defamatory, or misleading information
• Does not include personal contact details of private individuals
• Does not infringe on any copyright, trademark, or intellectual property right
• Does not contain promotional content paid for by a roaster or third party
• Does not contain hate speech, discrimination, or abusive content

Brewed reserves the right to remove any content that violates these rules without notice.

5. Ratings and Reviews Integrity

The integrity of the Brewed rating system is fundamental to the platform. The following are strictly prohibited:

• Posting reviews for roasters, blends, or shops you have not personally experienced
• Coordinating with others to artificially inflate or deflate ratings
• Posting reviews in exchange for payment, discounts, or other incentives
• Roasters or their associates posting reviews of their own products

Roaster partnership tiers (Standard, Premium) do not influence ratings in any way. Paid placement features relate only to visibility, never to rating manipulation.

6. Intellectual Property

Roaster names, logos, product descriptions, and branding belong to their respective owners. Brewed does not claim ownership of roaster intellectual property. Where roaster information appears on Brewed, it is either publicly available information or has been submitted with implied consent through the roaster partnership programme.

User-generated content (reviews, tasting notes, profile bios) remains the intellectual property of the user who created it. By posting on Brewed, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content on the platform.

7. Roaster Partner Terms

Roasters listed on Brewed under Standard or Premium tiers agree to:

• Provide accurate business information
• Not attempt to manipulate community ratings
• Pay the agreed monthly retainer by the agreed date
• Give 30 days written notice to downgrade or cancel their tier

Brewed reserves the right to downgrade or remove a roaster listing if these terms are violated, without refund of any fees paid.

8. Events

Brewed events are community tastings organised by Brewed. Ticket purchases are final — refunds are offered only if the event is cancelled by Brewed. By attending an event, you consent to photographs being taken for community and marketing purposes. You may request to be excluded from photography by notifying the event organiser on arrival.

9. Disclaimer

Brewed is provided "as is". We make no warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information on the platform, including user-generated reviews and roaster listings. Use the platform at your own discretion.

Brewed is not liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from your use of the platform, your reliance on any review or rating, or any transaction you enter into with a roaster or event organiser.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Continued use of Brewed after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
